Wedding Planning ~ Stress to Bliss...it's all in the DETAILS

D DELEGATE
Don't be afraid to delegate! Allow trusted family and friends to assist you with your wedding planning details, so that you can focus on being a calm and serene bride vs. bridezilla. You will be surprised at how wonderfully liberating this simple tip can be!

E ENJOY
Enjoy the process and don't take everything so seriously! Having fun releases endorphins in your brain which relax and calm you. Laughter (an excellent stress reducer) combined with the right attitude and positive thoughts are essential to enjoying the wedding planning process!

T TWIST THE TRADITIONAL
Get creative and put a spin on traditional wedding ideas. For example, in lieu of a traditional Bachelorette Party, host a Spa Pajama Party at a Spa. Is the idea of a Guest Book boring you to tears? Have guests sign fabric squares with their well wishes so that you can make a quilt which you can enjoy (and use) for years!

A AROMATHERAPY AND REIKI
Alternative therapies such as Aromatherapy, Massage and Reiki are incredibly effective in reducing stress. Aromatherapy oils diffused in your house or added to your bath have an immediate and powerful effect on the central nervous system. Swedish massage helps to ease muscle tightness and soreness while promoting deep relaxation. Reiki calms and quiets the mind, clearing energy blockages so that positive energy can flow freely. When you take time for yourself to decompress, you are better equipped to deal with the details of wedding planning. Schedule time for massage treatments for both of you in the months and weeks preceding your wedding.

I INVITE YOUR FIANCE OR FRIENDS TO ENJOY NON-WEDDING ACTIVITIES WITH YOU
It's easy to give yourself up entirely to the wedding planning process. However, in doing so, you can quickly lose perspective. Don't become so focused on the destination that you forget to enjoy the journey. Get away from it all for a couple of hours or a day - try a trip to a park, a beach, the countryside, shopping or a trip to the cinema. Another tip would be to do something exciting which will completely take your mind off wedding plans, such as a theme park visit, hang gliding lesson, water sports activity etc. Taking a break from wedding planning (and wedding talk) will leave you feeling refreshed, physically relaxed and ready to return to your wedding plans with renewed enthusiasm and verve.

L LIVE HEALTHY
Exercise - Not only will you enjoy the benefits of better health and a slimmer physique, the increased blood circulation from exercise will revive your energy and leave your skin glowing.

Sleep - There is a good chance that there will be lots of social events connected with your wedding. It may be challenging to get enough sleep. Set a bedtime and try to stick to it. Rested=Relaxed=Radiant.

Nutrition - Make sure that you are eating a balanced healthy diet including plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables. Caffeine, sugar and alcohol, known stimulants, can cause chemical reactions to your nervous system making you jumpy, nervous and high-strung. Try to cut back on these and aim to start drinking more water instead.

Take a good vitamin every day. We all know we need extra nutrition when we're facing something big. Add some antioxidants - vitamins c, e and b. They'll help your skin look more radiant, and boost your energy.

Practice breathing. Most people breathe high in their upper chest, resulting in rapid, shallow breathing. Try this: lay on your bed with a hand over your belly button. Breathe in such a way that you make your hand go up and down. See if you can slow and deepen your breath. The more you're able to breathe, the easier it will be to deal with your emotions. Make time for a yoga or meditation class.

S SCHEDULE YOUR BEAUTY COUNTDOWN IN ADVANCE
Skincare - Your countdown to perfect and flawless wedding day skin should begin with facials at least 3 months prior to the wedding. For best results plan on scheduling facials every 3 weeks. Your final pre-wedding facial should fall no later than one week before the wedding.

Waxing - First-timers to waxing should plan on experiencing their first waxing 8 weeks prior to the wedding. Final waxing treatments and touches should be booked 3 days prior to the big day.

Massage - Once or twice a month based on what your budget permits. Couples massage is an excellent way to decompress with your fiancé.

Hair - Chose your stylist carefully several months before so that you can start working towards the exact look you want. They will assist you in a trial run through and planning for the actual wedding day schedule.

Make up - Schedule your first trial make up 4-6 weeks in advance. This gives you time to tweak colors, look etc. for perfect wedding photographs.

Nail care - Plan your manicure and pedicure approximately 2 days prior to the wedding.
